چکیده

As a materials processing technique, laser ablation was utilized for the first time in the 1960's, after the first commercial ruby laser was invented. Nevertheless, as a thin film growth method it did not attract much research interest until the late 1980 ́s, when it has been used for growing high temperature superconductor films. Since then, the development of the pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique has been more rapid and the amount of research devoted to this topic has increased dramatically.

Direct patterning of complex oxides by pulsed laser deposition through stencils

The possibilities to grow isolated structures of complex oxides by pulsed laser deposition through stencils were investigated. A stencil consisting of a SiN membrane with apertures of several hundred nanometers embedded in a Si chip is placed in front of a heated substrate (up to 750 degrees Celsius). Deposition through these apertures results in resistless, direct patterning by local depositio...

Pulsed Laser Deposition of SiO

Thin films of bioactive glass-ceramic have been deposited on titanium substrates by the Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) technique under different experimental conditions. The effect of parameters such as deposition pressure and temperature of heat treatments was studied. The microstructure and the crystalline phases of the coatings were characterized using SEM, EDX and XRD analysis; the phases pr...

Sensing properties of perovskite oxide La1-xSrxCoO3-δ obtained by using pulsed laser deposition

La1-xSrxCoO3-δ belongs to the group of perovskite oxides of the ABO3 structure, with a trivalent rare earth in the A position (La) and a trivalent metal ion in the B position (Co). Doping with divalent Srions at the trivalent La-positions creates oxygen vacancies which give the oxide catalytic properties to H2O2. However, the conventional techniques which are used to prepare this oxide such as ...

Synthesis of Novel Thin-Film Materials by Pulsed Laser Deposition

Pulsed laser deposition (PLD) is a conceptually and experimentally simple yet highly versatile tool for thin-film and multilayer research. Its advantages for the film growth of oxides and other chemically complex materials include stoichiometric transfer, growth from an energetic beam, reactive deposition, and inherent simplicity for the growth of multilayered structures. With the use of PLD, a...

Fabrication of nano-engineered transparent conducting oxides by pulsed laser deposition.

Nanosecond Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) in the presence of a background gas allows the deposition of metal oxides with tunable morphology, structure, density and stoichiometry by a proper control of the plasma plume expansion dynamics. Such versatility can be exploited to produce nanostructured films from compact and dense to nanoporous characterized by a hierarchical assembly of nano-sized cl...
